HyangOn (향온) is a handcrafted Korean soju produced by Hwayang (화양), the renowned brewery behind the Pungjeong Sagye (풍정사계) series—celebrating the four seasons through traditional brews.
The name “HyangOn (향온)” is derived from the special Hyang On Gok (향온곡), a unique nuruk made with mung beans (녹두). This distinctive starter not only defines its name but also symbolizes the meticulous craftsmanship and deep-rooted tradition that go into crafting this soju.
Brewed with rice, water, and nuruk, this soju is naturally fermented and distilled using traditional methods at Hwayang’s site. The process involves the rare technique of on-site nuruk-making—a labor-intensive art that few master.
This soju embodies a clean, elegant, complex profile, balancing savory grain richness with subtle botanical nuances. It delivers a smooth, seamless mouthfeel with layered flavors that reflect both heritage and artistry.
