One last drawing by Edwin Kosarek--several of which I purchased from a dealer who had purchased a good number of them plus a journal kept by Kosarek, which provided a little biographical information. What I know is that he was from New Jersey(b. 1929) but spent a good part of the 1950s in Mexico, after which he briefly attended Cooper Union. He was gay, and estranged from his family, and, it seems increasingly mentally ill, with not much record of him after the 1950s. I think his drawings were wonderful, this one dated 1950 and depicting "Michel Calman at bath"--quite a great tangle of limbs and parts and a bit hard to know which way is up; feels like life!

Ink on paper drawing mounted to thin white paper with punched edges, which is signed and dated. Drawing: 8 5/8" x 6 11/16". Backing paper: 8 1/2" x 11. Backing paper could easily be trimmed for framing. Good condition, with a bit of toning around the edges of the drawing, one smudge on the paper, and the tape underneath slightly visible at center edges of short sides.
