Lauren Richelieu is a scientific illustrator from the coast of Maine, where she grew up drawing and painting the native flora and fauna. For Lauren, nature and art have always gone hand in hand. Merging these two curiosities became a way for her to process and communicate with the world around her. Lauren aims to pull inspiration from the environment surrounding her to create meticulously rendered visual narratives of scientific subjects and vanishing ecosystems. Driven by a desire to represent natural history in a realistic and compelling way, Lauren’s portfolio consists of careful renderings of life and death unfolding in the wilderness.

About this collection:
Warblers of North America - As a nature illustrator I am continuously inspired by the creatures I see in my surrounding environment. Having spent many hours outside observing birds, ornithology is a primary part of my portfolio. This series of work focuses solely on warblers I spotted on my drive from Maine to California last year, highlighting the incredible biodiversity of species in North America.
