This Begonia's spiralling leaves have deep red veining in the centre which contrasts with the green of the leaves. The edges are tinted maroon and the whole leaf speckled with shimmering silver variegation. Begonias don't like getting their leaves wet, so when you water, go directly into the soil or bottom-water. Keep this plant happy with some humidity, indirect light and a warm spot and it will reward you with stunning foliage sure to grab attention on your sideboard, shelf or window ledge. When they are really happy and healthy, Begonia rex can grow up to two foot (60cm) tall, with leaves up to 25cm wide!

Begonia rex is usually native to South and Central America, though some Begonia species and varieties originate from Africa and Southern Asia too!
