History of Cuckoo Maran Chicken

The Cuckoo Maran was bred in France it is like the other Marans one of the last breeds to be introduced to the UK. 

The Cuckoo Maran was developed in the town of Marans were the name comes from. The Cuckoo Wheaten has white legs and four toes on their feet.

They lay very dark brown eggs and have become very popular with chicken keepers.

The Cuckoo Maran Hen Behaviour 

Cuckoo Marans are very nosey or should I say inquisitive hens like all the other Marans. They are always watching what you are doing and will come up to see what is going on. 

They love to free-range and have a good look around, but keep an eye on them as they may wander too far.

The Cuckoo Maran is an easy breed to look after and if given space will do a lot of foraging. They are a very disease-resistant breed of chicken.
