Description:

This album features piano trios by three composers born in the 1880s. The album features performances that capture the characteristics of the works of each composer: Spain's Turina, who incorporated elements of Andalusian folk music into his own compositions; Mexico's Ponce, known for his numerous guitar works; and Villa-Lobos, one of the most famous Brazilian composers of the 20th century. The performance will be given by the Rebellón Piano Trio, formed by players from Venezuela. In addition to contemporary music and standard repertoire, the trio actively introduces Latin American works and works to raise awareness of them, and continues to commission new works for a wide range of activities.
