Paganini (1782-1840)
Description:
This is the third book in the series of Paganini's complete guitar quartets. Paganini was known as a superb violinist. In fact, he also excelled at playing the guitar, and at one time wrote many works for guitar. There are 15 of his guitar quartets, all of which have a romantic and lyrical quality. The third collection includes three pieces, Nos. 4 and 5, composed between 1816 and 1817, and No. 10, for which he received much advice from his friend Luigi Germi. The guitar in these works is as present as the violin, either soloing or accompanying. The "Paganini Ensemble Wien," named after the composer, is a Vienna-based ensemble founded by Mario Hossen, a well-known Paganini scholar. Naxos Japan
