Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Description:
This is a collection of live FM broadcast material from the "Live In A Rusted Out Garage Tour" that toured North America from September to November 1986, the first tour since 1979 with their old friends, Crazy Horse. Neil Young and Crazy Horse followed up "Rust Never Sleeps" in 1979 with "Live Rust" and "Re-ac-tor" (1981), a live album from that tour. However, that tour never took place. After that, Neil moved to Gefin. From there, he released "Trans" (1982), "Everybody's Rockin'" (1983), "Old Ways" (1985), and "Landing On Water" (1986), a series of unique albums. The "Live In A Rusted Out Garage Tour" was held right after that, and it was the first time in a long time that fans had seen Neil Young's style in full force.Although the title of the show is titled the November 18, 1986 Universal Amphitheater show in LA, it is actually an excerpt from five Midwest shows from Denver to LA from November 11 to 19, and appears to have been broadcast in 1987. The opener is "Mr. Soul," a song from the Buffalo Springfield era. The middle of the show features an acoustic section, with the biggest hits. It was interesting to hear Crazy Horse versions of songs from "Trans" and "Landing On Water. Don't worry about the fact that this is after a unique album, this is a rock 'n' roll show!
