The NiteHunter Ultra torch was always designed to be a feral pest detection torch, from it’s large rotary adjustable aspheric head – which resists movement - to it’s dual tailcap which enables it to be used with a tapeswitch on an optic and without one off. With the new Ultra LED providing increased light and range out to 275 metres , but still with very modest size and weight. For many people this will be all the animal detection torch they ever need

Light Output and Beam Pattern
The NiteHunter Ultra LED torch with its large aspheric head and slightly greater distance than usual between LED and aspheric lens (magnifying glass) concentrates every one of its lumens into it’s spot to provide a good beam out to 275 metres. This can be adjusted back to flood. There is a high beam whih provides 275 metres of reach for 1 hour and 40 minutes,  medium beam lasting 4 hours  and low beam lasting for 55 hours.

Construction and Thermal Transfer Tube
Like all of the Wolf Eyes LED Torches the NiteHunter Ultra is built around the brass Thermal Transfer Tube. The Thermal Transfer Tube has three benefits, it strengthens the total body structure, it enhances electrical conductivity and most importantly drags damaging heat away from LED. If overheated LEDs suffer permanently reduced output. It is more important than ever to protect against overheating with a high output LED and a small torch.

The rest of the body is made from aircraft grade aluminium which is then low temperature (-20o C) Hard Anodized tactical black.

Dual Tailcap
The tailcap is the Wolf Eyes Dual Tailcap, which means you can use it like a regular tailcap or screw on the included tapeswitch for faster control of your light. The Dual Tailcap also features a spring in it, combined with the spring at the front of the body, the two springs contain the battery which can move but electrical contact is maintained at all times.

Regulation
The NiteHunter Ultra LED Torch is regulated, meaning it doesn’t dim as the battery flattens. Torches usually dim as the battery flattens, sometimes just a little and often a lot. This is because the battery reduces in voltage as it flattens. The solution to this regulation, this increases the amperage as the voltage is reduced, so the optimum power or cuurent is always supplied to the LED.

Rechargeable Batteries
The Nitehunter  Ultra uses a LRB168HDB (18650- High Discharge Battery) lithium ion protected battery. This is the same size as the rest of the Wolf Eyes LED torch and headlamp range, meaning you can share this battery between your torches and headlamps. Your other Wolf Eyes batteries are not recommended to use in the Nitehunter 'Ultra', they will work but not let the torch reach maximum output.  Due to the lithium ion batteries good output only one is required, meaning we can keep the 25.4 mm (1”) torch body size and modest length. These are protected batteries, meaning there is a computer protection chip built into the battery, which controls charging, discharging and most importantly over discharging. Being rechargeable means low running costs for you. Two disposable CR123A batteries will also power your Nitehunter 'Ultra' LED torch.

Cold Weather
All Lithium Ion powered Wolf Eyes LED torches work well in cold weather, the NiteHunter  flashlight being rated from -20o C to +60o C.
