Description:
Ron Goodwin (real name: Ronald Alfred Goodwin) is an English composer. Known for his brilliant film music, he has received numerous awards, including the Golden Globe and Iver Novello Awards. The album "633 Bombers" was Goodwin's first attempt at war film music, and the majestic music that accompanies the story of an air raid on a German munitions factory in Norway was enormously popular. Of course, he did not only write music for war films, but also "Drake 400," a tribute to Sir Francis Drake after his return from a round-the-world trip, and "New Zealand Suite," about New Zealand, which he had visited regularly since the 1970s. Goodwin has also written some wonderful orchestral works. This album features Goodwin himself conducting the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. This is truly one of the best albums of his career.
