Description:

Richard Fleury is a Swiss composer. Born into a musical family, he studied conducting with Felix Weingartner at the local conservatory and composition with Joseph Marx in Vienna. Eventually, he conducted the orchestra of the city of Zolotrun for 30 years and also worked as a composer. He left behind many magnificent works in the style of the late Romantic period. This album contains his Symphony No. 1 from the 1920s and Symphony No. 4 from the 1950s. The lyrical and grandiose First Symphony is reminiscent of Bruckner, while the gorgeous sound of the Fourth Symphony, which sounds like music from a Hollywood movie, was inspired by memories of his childhood visits to Liechtenstein.
